Photography, adventure and travel have always been central to my life.
When I acquired my first drone in 2018, I immediately knew it marked the beginning of a new era. It transformed the way I experience and capture the world. Since then, my passion for drones and visual content creation has fueled the exploration of beautiful northwest Greece and beyond.
My name is Dimitrios Matsoulis. I studied mechanical engineering and industrial automation and worked across several European countries before settling back in Greece in the early 2000s. My journey into visual storytelling was sparked by a life-changing slideshow from an overland expedition company in London, which led to a months-long journey through Mexico and the United States.
With the transition to digital photography I discovered Lightroom and a new level of creative control. I could now organize, access and process my work as I always dreamed! In fact I became so good at this that since 2014 I have worked as a freelance photo editor and have even helped companies and individual photographers on a 1-to-1 basis with their visual projects.
I have now evolved into a hybrid photographer and videographer that genuinely enjoys the complete process from exploration and filming to editing and final production. Depending on the location and the conditions I extensively use my full frame camera and my action cameras.
Adventure and exploration in nature provide peace, balance and clarity in a hectic world. Modern tools allow me to translate that experience into cinematic visuals that others can use, enjoy and share.
About Sky Roaming
Sky Roaming is my channel of expression built around two inspirations.
The first is of course the sky itself as a medium of freedom for aerial drone adventures. The second is Sky, my Jack Russell companion and mascot who possesses endless amounts of energy and curiosity.
